Learn more about ESC Grants

The European Society of Cardiology has developed a range of grants to help young professionals in the field of cardiology access quality training or research activities throughout Europe.

Some grants or fellowships concern specific topics of cardiology and eligibility criteria may differ between them. The number of grants has significantly increased in recent years with contributions from the Associations, Working Groups and Councils of the ESC.

Grants attributed by the ESC Training and Research Grants Committee For young cardiologists who wish to update their clinical training or research in another ESC country.

• Echocardiography Research Grant
  The European Association on Echocardiography (EAE) is proud to offer two Research Grants. Deadline 30 September 2008. 
• Interventional Cardiology Grant
  The European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) awards one-year Training and Research Grants.
• Training Fellowship Programme in Electrophysiology
  The European Heart Rhythm Association offers physicians and training centres the opportunity to participate in the programme. 
• Research Fellowships in Heart Failure
  The Heart Failure Association of the ESC invites applicants interested in Clinical or Basic Research Fellowship to participate. Deadline 14 April 2009... 

ESC Councils

• Norman R. Alpert Visiting Scientist Award
  The Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science offers this opportunity to basic scientists wishing to spend one year in the United States as a visiting scientist.
• Outstanding Achievement Award
  For the second year the Council in Basic Cardiovascular Science will honour two basic researchers with outstanding accomplishments in the early stage of their career.
• Post-Doctoral Grants 2009
  For new post-doctoral researchers and PhD students wishing to attend the 9th Annual Spring Meeting on Cardiovascular Nursing and a post-doctoral seminar to be held in conjunction with the Spring Meeting. 5 grants of 850 Euros are proposed. Deadline 30 January 2009. 
• The Atie Immink New Investigator Award
  Introduced in 2008 this award is proposed to doctorally-prepared registered nurses and aims to stimulate research / post-doctoral work. Deadline 14 February 2009.
